These words are so deep, once you take the time to reflect on their meaning. If you love someone, you will be gentle in conveying the truth; if you don’t then the harshness of that same ‘truth’ can, and sometimes, cut ‘deeply’ like a knife slicing through your consciousness.
Then there is the other part of the story: how can you claim to love someone and yet choose not to be honest? Indeed, this is the highest form of hypocrisy and the type that hurts even more once you find out.
Truth and love go hand in hand – it is hard to love and not be truthful, it is easy to be truthful because you love and care enough to make the difference.
