Daily Quote # 94
‘We begin from the recognition that all beings cherish happiness and do not want suffering. It then becomes both morally wrong and pragmatically unwise to pursue only one’s own happiness oblivious to the feelings and aspirations of all others who surround us as members of the same human family. The wiser course is to think of others when pursuing our own happiness.’
-Dalai Lama
This quote from such an esteemed being as the Dalai Lama does make one pause for a moment of reflection. His simplicity of thinking and analyzing the human being is filled with personal questions – at least on my part. His words make me pause and do a quick personal review.
How do these words affect you? Does it strike a chord within or does it make you feel good in knowing that you have evolved to the point in which he is speaking, and need no improvement?
